Indian School Muscat hosted the spectacular CBSE Oman Cluster Table Tennis Tournament 2024-25 on Monday 9th September 2024 at the Indian School Muscat premises where 184 students in different age categories from 11 Indian Schools in Oman participated. The Chief Guest for the inaugural ceremony was Mr. Shameer P.T.K, Director, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman and Mr. Mitul Asher, Chair, Co-curricular Subcommittee, Indian School Muscat Management Committee, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Other dignitaries, worthy Principal Dr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice Principal Administration, Vice Principals, Assistant Vice Principals, participating teams, umpires, coaches, teachers, parents and sports enthusiasts were present for this Inaugural Ceremony. Coordinator Sports, Nandana Vinesh welcomed the gathering.
The Chief Guest Mr. Shameer P.T.K addressed the audience and declared the meet open. In his speech he encouraged the participants to pursue success with determination and stressed on the importance of participation more than winning. He further added that every rally they play is a step towards mastering their craft. Captain of Indian School Muscat Table Tennis Team Swarna Ramasubramaniyam administered the Oath. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and the Principal of Indian School Muscat played a few rallies in the presence of the audience to initiate the tournament.
The daylong event concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony. Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Said Bamakhalif, President, Oman Table Tennis Association, was the Chief Guest. A special guest who added charm to the occasion by his benign presence was Mr Sajad Mohammed Baqir, Vice-Chairman, Oman Table Tennis Association and Treaurer, Asian Table Tennis UNIAN (ATTU) and the Guest of Honour was Dr. Abdul Rahim Kalathil, Vice Chair, Academic Subcommittee, Indian School Muscat. The Chief Guest appreciated and congratulated the students for their stupendous performance. The Chief Guest, the Special Guest and the Guest of Honour felicitated the winners in different categories.

Under 14 Boys Rishab from Indian School Sohar, Under14 Girls Lakshya Sree from Indian School Buaimi, Under 17 Boys Immanuel from Indian School Al Ghubra, Under 17 Girls Zara Zabil from Indian School Sohar, Under19 Boys Swayam Sharma from Indian School Al Ghubra and Under 19 Girls Veda Prasanth from Indian School Al Mabela.
The following schools won the Team Championship in different categories:
Under 14 Girls Indian School Al Wadi Al Kabir, Under 17 Girls Indian School Buraimi, Under 19 Girls Indian School Al Mabela, Under 14 Boys Indian School Sohar, Under 17 Boys Indian School Al Ghubra and Under 19 Boys Indian School Al Ghubra.The awards were presented in the following categories - Under 14, Under 17 and Under 19 boys and girls.
Christine Danthi, Assistant Coordinator, Sports proposed the Vote of Thanks. The first and second position winners of the CBSE Oman Cluster Table Tennis Tournament will represent their schools at the CBSE Nationals to be held from 2nd to 4th October 2024 at Kangra, India.
