Teaching Kindergarten is not just about teaching the ABCs and 123s, it is about building a love for learning in children. The prestigious Teacher's Day assembly was held with much reverence and appreciation in the Pre Primary section of Indian School Muscat on September 4th, 2023.The programme was attended by the Vice Principal, Pre Primary section, Mrs Prema George, Assistant Vice Principal, Primary section, Mrs Bindu Saji, the staff and students of Pre Primary section and the families of the performing classes.
Every year, September 5th is celebrated as Teacher's Day as we commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a great scholar, philosopher and our second president of India.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp invoking the blessings from above and illuminating the path of knowledge by dispelling darkness. The students then enumerated the role and significance of a teacher in a child's life. Children sang a melodious song thanking the teacher filling the air with joy and gratitude. There was also a breathtaking show of children dressed as various professionals reiterating the fact that it is a teacher that teaches all the other professionals in the world. The programme ended with children displaying the entire Pre Primary staff's photographs and thanking them for their guidance and devotion. The audience gave a thunderous applause for the lovely programme by these children, trained by their class teachers, Mrs Princy Nair and Mrs Shruti Sanjay under the able guidance of the Vice Principal.
The Vice Principal, Pre Primary section, Mrs Prema George addressed the audience and applauded the efforts of the class teachers and students. She also appreciated the Pre Primary teachers for their continuous efforts in ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for the young children. The Vice Principal also thanked the parents for their unwavering cooperation and support and wished everyone a very Happy Teacher's Day.
