On 11.11.24, The Pre-Primary department hosted a vibrant celebration of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, The First Education Minister of Independent India, immersing young minds in the spirit of history and patriotism.
The children adorned themselves in lovely attires reminding us of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The tiny replicas of Azad confidently took the stage and delivered a few lines about his role in the Independence movement.
The event not only celebrated the past but also sowed the seeds of awareness and admiration for the nation’s rich history in the hearts of these young learners.
The event was a grand success under the able guidance of our Pre-Primary Vice Principal Mrs. Prema George, AVP Pre- Primary, Mrs. Shaheen Kasmani and all the teachers of the Pre-Primary Section

Students played different roles to remember the vision, mission and efforts of Maulana Abul Kalam, a visionary leader whose contributions laid to the foundation for the education system we have today. Students reiterated the importance of education through placards. Children dressed in stunning costumes concluded the assembly with a beautiful dance and song.

Additionally, the school witnessed the active participation of its students in a poster-making activity on the theme, ‘Importance of Education’.

A Special Morning Assembly was organized by students of Senior Section of Indian School Muscat to celebrate the National Education Day. In the Special Assembly, a group of students explained the role of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in India’s freedom struggle and later shaping the education system of independent India. He was monumental is establishing the Indian Council for Cultural Relation (ICCR) to ensure cultural exchange between India and the rest of the world.
Students also elaborated a few important quotes of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, which were very impressive.
In addition, students also emphasized the national aims of education in India so as to providing equal opportunities for all individuals to access quality education, regardless of their background or socio-economic status. It has guaranteed holistic
development of individuals, including their intellectual, physical, emotional and social well-being.
Apart from this, students also elaborated the efforts of the government of India in the field of education such as Sarve Shiksha Abhiyan, Balika Samridhi Yojana, Samagra Shiksha, PM Poshan Scheme, Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
Noteworthy, the significance of Right to Education Act was also explained in simple words which has ensured free and compulsory education for the children 6 to 14 years.
In the end, students also elucidated government’s efforts for the development of higher education in India for instance, establishment of such as Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), and centrally funded institutions (CFIs) to provide quality education to students.
Celebration of National Education Day not only made the students aware of the contributions of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad but also vindicated the efforts of Government of India’s efforts to promote education in India.
