REPORT ON JHANKAAR HUES 2025

Jhankaar Hues, the exuberant fiesta celebrating talent and camaraderie among the houses at Indian School Muscat, proudly presented its latest edition from 31st May to 2nd June 2025. This platform fosters students' skills, encourages healthy competition and fosters personal and artistic growth. Organized by ISM, this significant event witnessed nearly 2000 participants competing in 30 events across 10 venues, manifesting their latent skills.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Abdullah Bin Hamood Al Hasani, Director General, Ministry of Labour, Al Dakhliyah Governorate, Sultanate of Oman and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Syed Salman, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman, along with other respected members of the School Management Committee, with the traditional 'Lighting of the Lamp.' It’s commendable that the school upholds environmental values, as demonstrated by the gesture of welcoming the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour with potted plants. The presence of dignitaries, including the Principal, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice-Principal Administration, Senior Principal & Educational Advisor of the Indian Schools in Oman, President of the School Management Committee, Vice-Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, Heads of Departments, teachers, enthusiastic participants, proud parents and well-wishers, bestowed an air of grandeur to the occasion.

After the devotional rendition of the prayer song and the welcome address by the Head Boy, Aryan Kishore, the audience were enchanted by the graceful invocation dance organized by the Performing Arts team. It was followed by a captivating digital presentation featuring highlights of Jhankaar Hues journey, that engaged the audience and even boosted the confidence of the participants. With majestic strides, the four House Captains ceremonially carried the Jhankaar Hues Flag into the hall, while Senior Council Co-curricular Coordinator, Rezwin Giordi, administered the oath on behalf of all participants.

The Chief Guest hoisted and unfurled the Jhankaar Hues flag, officially declaring the scintillating fest open. Speaking highly of the events at ISM, he expressed joy in attending and looked forward to an outstanding occasion and accurately cited the school’s holistic approach and vibrant ambience. Additionally, the Guest of Honour connected with the students in ‘Gen Alpha’ parlance while mentioning about the ‘W Moment,’ he reminisced about his school days, recalling his enthusiastic participation in similar events. The Chief Guest’s words deeply resonated the importance of fostering a positive competitive spirit among the students, highlighting the importance of participation than winning.

As a token of gratitude, Bhavayani Vinod of IV L presented the Chief Guest with a painting of her own, while Shankar Maneesh of IV I gifted his painting to the Guest of Honour. The Inaugural Ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shiby Binoj, Head Girl of the Senior Section. ISM witnessed a blend of youthful creativity and talent throughout the three-day cultural extravaganza, aimed at highlighting exceptional abilities. These three days were brimming with unparalleled excitement among enthusiastic participants who were cheered by their peers.

This celebration of talents came to an impactful conclusion with a valedictory function held at 5:30 p.m. on June 2nd, 2025. The gracious presence of Chief Guest Prof. Ali Al Badi, Dean, Gulf College and Guest of Honour Mr. Nadeem Al Balushi, prominent singer, musician, composer accompanied by the Vice President, Treasurer, Co-convener, Principal, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice-Principal Administration, Vice-Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, Heads of Departments, teachers, proud participants, parents and well-wishers, added depth to the momentous culmination of Jhankaar Hues 2025. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were felicitated with potted plants by the Head Boy, Head Girl and the Social Service Coordinators of the Senior Section.

The event commenced with a prayer song and the Co-curricular Coordinator of the Senior Section adorned the privilege to extend a formal welcome to the esteemed gathering. A digital synopsis, ‘Fleeting Vision,’ provided the audience with an immersive experience of the enthralling three-day journey. The winners of various events showcased their talents, mesmerizing the audience with their outstanding and incredible prowess in the well-crafted fiesta. After the felicitation of the House Masters & House Mistresses of the four houses of the various sections, the pivotal moment of the event arrived with the eagerly awaited announcement of results and the subsequent prize distribution ceremony. Both the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour bestowed accolades upon the winning Houses, presenting them with mementoes, certificates, and trophies. The Chief Guest, visibly thrilled, expressed his delight at witnessing ISM’s marvellous strength in setting up the benchmark and raising the standard of Jhankar Hues since its inception. He emphasised on each individual’s unique talent and remarked that everyone should take advantage of it for self-progress as well as equipping themselves to contribute for an ideal community. As a gesture of gratitude, Ananya Ramgopal of IV L presented the Chief Guest with an apt portrait featuring an amazing blend of different hues. The audience were enthralled by the melodies beats rendered by the Guest of Honour.

The announcement of the results filled the participants with excitement and the auditorium echoed with joy and celebration as the Red House proudly lifted the prestigious 'Championship Trophy' of 'Jhankaar Hues 2025'. In the Sub-Junior Category, the Yellow House claimed the Runner-Up trophy, while the Red House secured the Winning Trophy. In the Junior Category, the Red House secured the Runner-Up position, while the Green House emerged as the Winner. In the Senior Category, the Blue House secured the Runner-Up position, while the Yellow House claimed the top spot as the winner.

The lowering of the Jhankaar Flag marked a reminiscing and uplifting moment, inspiring all to maintain the same zest, gusto and enthusiasm for the years to come. The curtains fell on ‘Jhankaar Hues :Plethora of Talents’ for the year 2025 with an expression of gratitude by the Co-Curricular Coordinator of the Senior Section followed by a heartfelt rendition of the School Anthem. Undoubtedly, the plethora of events served as a testament to the immense potential and talent that reside within the young generation and the extensive array of artistic, linguistic and cultural events eloquently showcased the dedication and diligence of the school community.
