The most solemn event, 'Junior Prefects Investiture Ceremony' of Indian School Muscat, was celebrated on 8th May, 2023, with full zeal, zest and enthusiasm. The Investiture Ceremony signifies the confidence and the hope that the school believes in the newly appointed school cabinet. The momentous occasion was dignified by the gracious presence of the honourable Chief Guest Colonel Jorn Pung, Senior Defense Attache, US Embassy, Sultanate of Oman. The ceremony began with the majestic marching of the newly elected Junior Prefects of the Middle Section in harmony with the mighty drum beats that replicated the aura of the ceremony. The Junior Prefects of Class VIII, Vice Captains, Head Boy and Head Girl designate then marched to the dais.
The programme commenced with the invocation song followed by the welcome speech of the Head Girl designate, Namia Najeeb. The chief guest was welcomed with a potted plant in accordance with the school's belief of building a green environment. The school Principal, Dr Rajeev Kumar Chauhan administered the Oath of Office. The chief Guest, Colonel Jorn Pung invested the Head Boy and the Head Girl, the two pillars of the student council in the Middle Section. The school Head Boy Harsh H S of Class VIII, Head Girl Namia Najeeb of Class VIII along with the Captains and Vice Captains of all the four houses were conferred with badges, and flags and other junior prefects were also invested with their badges.
The chief guest, an accomplished team leader, actuated the Student Council Members to be the role models and render their responsibilities sincerely as the nation builders of tomorrow. He advised the office bearers to work with a spirit of unity in the interest of students at large. He congratulated them and rightly quoted the notion "To Try, To Fail, To Succeed" and remarked that failure is a part of life and urged them to think wide to become good leaders.
The School Principal, Dr Rajeev Kumar Chauhan invested the newly appointed House Masters and Mistresses for the academic year 2023- 24. The Head Boy, Harsh H.S took the pledge on behalf of the Vice-Captains and the Junior Prefects. The council members promised to carry in their hearts, the values that they have imbibed over the years. They also swore to do their duties to the best of their abilities.
The proceedings of the function were embellished with the spell binding rendition of the song 'If You Believe', spreading the belief that each one of us can reach for the stars with determination and perseverance.
The ceremonious occasion came to a glorious end with the school anthem, preceded by the expression of gratitude proposed by the Head Boy. It was a day imbued with a deep sense of pride, humility and leadership with the presence of dignitaries, members of the Indian School Muscat Management Committee and proud parents.
