ISM GRADUATION DAY: A JOURNEY OF GROWTH AND SUCCESS


The outgoing Grade 12 students of Indian School Muscat were honoured at the Annual Graduation Ceremony on the 1st of February, 2025. Conducted in the School’s New Multipurpose Hall, the event was a proud milestone for students, parents, teachers, and well-wishers.
A distinguished gathering of dignitaries graced the event, with the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Moosa Al Kindi, Dean, Modern College of Business and Science, Muscat, and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Subrahmanian Muthuraman, Chair, Academic Sub-Committee, Indian School Muscat, Management Committee, leading the assembly. The occasion was further dignified by the presence of Mr. Sherry Johny, Vice President, SMC, Mr. Mohammed Rafi, Convener, SMC, Mr. Mohammad Imran Khan, Treasurer, SMC, Mr. Aleem Mohiuddin, Chair IT Sub -Committee, Mrs. Sarika, Chair, Welfare Sub-Committee, Dr. Lakshmi Sarkar, Deputy Chair, Co-Curricular Sub-Committee and Dr. Abdul Rahim, Deputy Chair, Academic Sub-Committee. The event also welcomed the Principal, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice Principal, Vice-Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, department heads, faculty, grandparents, parents, and the graduating class of 2024-25, making it a truly momentous occasion.

With ceremonial gowns flowing gracefully, the Class XII students marched down the aisle, exuding pride and radiating confidence with every step. The event began with a stirring performance of the national anthems of Oman and India, beautifully rendered by the school choir. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and other esteemed members of the School Management Committee, marked the commencement of the programme. The invocation dance, a heartfelt homage to the Almighty and gurus, resonated as a perfect tribute to teachers and parents capturing the spirit of the celebrations beautifully.

Nihal Bhatt, the School Head Boy, graciously welcomed the distinguished guests. As a profound symbol of love and gratitude, the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour were each presented with a potted plant by Co-Curricular Coordinators, Veda Sarath and Alan Joseph Nibu, and Literary Coordinators, Maheeka Mahanta and Charan Kaja, respectively.

Representing the graduating batch of 2024-25, the Student Council Members marched in procession as they entered the hall. This ceremonial march symbolized their deepest gratitude for the wisdom and opportunities provided by the school. The Head Boy then led all the new graduates in taking the pledge. A heartfelt video recaptured the graduates' treasured experiences at ISM, conveying their enduring appreciation for their alma mater.

Receiving mementos from the chief guest and esteemed dignitaries was a cherished moment for the young graduates. The school choir delivered a soulful and inspiring rendition of the song "The World Is Yours," conveying warm wishes for the students’ promising journeys ahead. The Chief Guest presented the Student Council Members with mementos, recognizing their unwavering service and commitment to the school community.

In his congratulatory address, the Chief Guest lauded the graduates for withstanding challenges and conquering obstacles over the past twelve years, before reaching the finishing line. He added that in the fast-shifting job market, human skills like creativity, resilience, flexibility and agility will be essential to remain competitive in future professions. He urged the graduates to view their university years as a crucial period for developing the skills and knowledge essential for success in the constantly changing job market. He concluded his speech by wishing the students a bright and wonderful future.

As a warm and meaningful gesture of appreciation and respect, the Chief Guest was presented with a stunning artwork depicting ‘The infinite possibilities of the world with optimism’ done by Kaetlyn Lopez of class 11 J.

The Head Girl, Gayathri Amar Kumar, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude and acknowledging the contributions of all who made the event memorable. In a touching finale, the students, as one big family, sang in unity and joy, their cherished school anthem, effectively bringing the curtains down on the event before proceeding to the field for group photographs.

It was a memorable day of celebration and achievement that will remain etched in the hearts of the students for years to come.
