ISM ORGANIZES GRADUATION CEREMONY

Indian School Muscat held its Annual Graduation Ceremony to honour the outgoing batch of Grade XII students, on 28th January, 2023 in the School’s Multipurpose Hall. It was a moment of pride and privilege not only for the students, but also for the parents, teachers and well - wishers. Dr. Ali Saud Al Bimani, Vice-Chancellor, National University of Science & Technology Sultanate of Oman, Ms. Nabila Al Macki, Chair for the Oman Association of Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Deputy Dean (Academic Affairs) Majan University College, Sultanate of Oman, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Guest of honour respectively.

Mr. Sachin Toprani, President, School Management Committee, Vice President, Convenor, Treasurer, Co-Convenor and other esteemed Members of Indian School Muscat Management Committee, Principal, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Chauhan, Senior Vice Principal Administration, Vice Principals, Assistant Vice Principals, Heads of Departments, other dignitaries, teachers and parents witnessed the proceedings.

Class XII students clad in their ceremonial graduation gowns walked down the aisle with pride and happiness. The function commenced with the singing of the national anthems of Oman and India which was followed by the school prayer song led by the school choir. The school head boy, Madhav Suresh accorded a cordial welcome to the distinguished gathering. The chief guest and the guest of honour were presented with potted plants by the student leaders. This was followed by an invocation dance portraying the importance of guru or teacher in our lives, a fitting tribute to the teachers and parent community, conceptualized by Fine Arts Department, stood out as a perfect echo of the celebration.

Students had the privilege of receiving the mementoes from the Chief Guest - Dr Ali Saud Al Bimini, Guest of Honor – Ms. Nabila Al Macki, President – Mr. Sachin Toprani, Vice President – Mr. Ghulam Hussain Khan, Convener – Mr. Sharafdeen Yoosaf, Treasurer – Mr. Dahyabhai Chauhan and Chair Academic Sub Committee – Dr. Subrahmanian M. An enthralling song titled ‘The World is Yours’ outlining how self – belief turns dreams into realities, rendered by the school choir with enthusiasm, held the audience spell bound.

As a token of gratitude and appreciation, the Chief guest and the Guest of honour were presented with the artworks reproduced by Rebecca Magdalene D’souza and Kimberlie Melisha Rodrigas of class 12 J, depicting “Sunflower’ and ‘A wheat field with cypress trees’ respectively both of which were exact replications of the original paintings of Vincent Van Gogh, a Dutch painter.

The chief guest, while addressing the august gathering, congratulated and said that they should know what they want to be and that will make them successful in life. He also added that the mind is the limit, they should not stop thinking and that can pave the way for them to become inventors. He urged them to understand their potential, go ahead with confidence, be life-long learners and conquer the world because the world is theirs.

The guest of honour congratulated the young aspirants and said, “the journey that you are about to embark on is a different journey from that you just finished. Higher education requires a different set of skills and above all autonomy and independent thinking.” She further stated “Artificial Intelligence, automation and Internet of Things are the ABC’s of your lives and you should grab all the opportunities that come your way, become good citizens and make your families and friends proud.”

Student council members were honoured with certificates of recognition for their calibre and dedicated commitment. The solemn ceremony came to a close with the Head girl Ann Elza Monica proposing the vote of thanks.

The Principal, Dr Rajeev Kumar Chauhan wished all the students best of luck for their next phase of life and be a proud Alumni of the school.
