On 4th December 2025, Indian School Muscat proudly celebrated its 50th Annual Day with unparalleled grandeur and vibrant festivities bringing alive the theme “Colours of Life” through a spectacular blend of music, dance, drama, and cultural diversity. The event showcased the creativity and talents of students, leaving the audience enthralled. It was indeed a captivating evening with a rich symphony of achievements and emotions, a pulsating tapestry woven with the threads of diverse cultures and a joyous celebration of harmony.
The auspicious occasion was graced by a galaxy of dignitaries – the Chief Guest, Ibrahim Abdullah Al Wahibi, Director of the Mutrah Labour Department, Ministry of Labour, Sultanate of Oman, Guest of Honour Mr. Harshendu Shah, Vice-Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman and Special Guest Mr. Damodar R Katti, Head-Infrastructure Committee, Director In-Charge of ISM, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman. The distinguished guests and luminaries were accorded a warm reception by the School Management Committee and the Principal. Other eminent dignitaries who illuminated the celebration with their presence were the Directors of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman, Dr. Kiran G R, President, Indian School Muscat Management Committee, Vice-President, Convenor, Treasurer, Co-Convenor, other esteemed members of the Indian School Muscat Management Committee, Principals of various Indian Schools in Oman, Principal, Mr Rakesh Joshi, Vice-Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, Heads of various Departments, teachers, invitees, parents, grandparents, and students.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the Principal, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice-Principal, Administration, Vice-Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, Heads of various Departments, teachers, members of Student Council, and students assembled to host the mega event. Their collective enthusiasm and dedication set the perfect tone for an unforgettable celebration. The event commenced with the Royal Anthem of Oman and the National Anthem of India. The welcome dance emerged as the centerpiece of the celebration, radiating grace, reverence, and impeccable finesse. Diya Mehnaz Jasmine, Assistant Head Girl of the Senior Section, extended a gracious welcome to the guests, establishing a warm and inviting ambiance for the evening.
The Principal, Mr Rakesh Joshi presented the Annual Report highlighting the school’s achievements in academics, sports, co-curricular activities and notable accolades over the year. The audience was taken on a journey through the school’s numerous accomplishments, showcasing the dedication and hard work of students, staff, and the broader ISM community.
A distinguished segment of the evening was devoted to honouring the unwavering dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as celebrating students who achieved remarkable milestones in sports. The Chief Guest, Mr. Ibrahim Abdullah Al Wahibi, Director of the Mutrah Labour Department, Ministry of Labour, Sultanate of Oman felicitated the long-service awardees—those completing 30, 25, 20, and 15 years— acknowledging their exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment that have enriched the institution.
This was followed by the thought provoking words of the Guest of Honour. In his address, the Guest of Honour Mr. Harshendu Shah, Vice-Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman applauded the students’ confidence and creativity, noting that events like these help nurture well-rounded individuals. He also highlighted the importance of cultural programmes in shaping students’ personalities and commended the school for providing a platform that encourages artistic expression. He bestowed honours upon the 10-year long-service awardees for their outstanding and exemplary contributions to the institution.
The atmosphere was filled with pride and jubilation as the winners of the CBSE National Sports and Games 2025 were acknowledged by the Special Guest Mr. Damodar R Katti, Head-Infrastructure Committee, Director In-Charge of ISM, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman. The coaches, who played as pivotal role in guiding and mentoring these young athletes, were also honoured for their unwavering commitment to excellence. As a gesture of gratitude, each guest was honoured with a commemorative memento.
A rich tapestry of cultural performances brought the evening to life, each reflecting the radiant colours of life: joy, harmony, courage, peace, and hope. “The Colours of Sunshine,” performed by the spirited Pre-Primary students, enchanted the audience with its spectacular execution, charm and exuberance. The celebration continued with the Primary students’ enthralling folk dance titled ‘Colours of Values’. Intertwined with grace and modern rhythm, the ‘Blue and Black: Beyond the Horizon’ performed by the students of Middle Section transcended the audience beyond all borders. The dance drama presented by the students of Senior Section was a torrent of power, passion, and breath-taking artistry which added colour, rhythm and soul to the event. Wrapped in melody and courage the ‘Rainbow of Feelings” by the little singers of Primary Section painted life in all its splendid colours that swirled around like a gentle storm of colours. The students from across the sections enthralled the gathering with a resplendent musical odyssey titled ‘The Colour of Unity – Musical Symphony.’ This soul-stirring creation—an anthem woven with threads of courage, unity, and hope—radiantly celebrated the colours of life and the promise of new beginnings.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Gurjap Singh Dhanoa, Assistant Head Boy of the Senior Section, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all guests, participants, and organizers for their invaluable contributions to the evening’s success. The celebration concluded with the school anthem, leaving a lasting impression of the school's commitment to fostering a vibrant, well-rounded, and harmonious educational environment, perfectly reflected in the theme “Colours of Life.” The celebration left parents, guests, and students with cherished memories, marking yet another milestone in the school’s journey of excellence.
