BHARATH SCOUTS AND GUIDES - REFRESHER COURSE 2024

Indian School Muscat, an exemplar of effective event organization, hosted a refresher course for Scout Masters and Guide Captains of all Indian Schools in the Sultanate of Oman on August 31, 2024, at the School’s New Multipurpose Hall. The school’s philosophy goes beyond academic teaching to focus on comprehensive personal growth. It strives to reach this goal through various initiatives. The event, marked by vibrant enthusiasm, witnessed the active participation of educators across Indian Schools in Oman.

Bharat Scouts & Guides is a globally visible, consistently growing, self-reliant premium youth movement that is gender balanced, vibrant and responsive to trends. The purpose of the movement is to contribute to the development of young people by helping them achieve their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potential as individuals, responsible citizens, and members of local, national and international communities. With this objective in mind, the refresher course was provided for the educators.














The presence of the chief guest Mr. Vinoba M. P, Senior Principal and Educational Advisor to the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Principal, Indian School Muscat, Senior Vice Principal Administration, Vice Principals, Assistant Vice Principals and other dignitaries marked the significance of the day. The event commenced with the traditional ‘lighting of the lamp’ followed by the welcome address. The chief guest, Mr. Vinoba M. P, Senior Principal and Educational Advisor to the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, honouring the occasion with his presence stressed on the motto of Scouts and Guides. The Chief Guest, in his inaugural address, urged the educators to motivate students to join Scouts and Guides movement to reap its valuable benefits. He further advised the educators to serve as role models, guiding students to develop mental resilience and effectively navigate life's challenges.














Mrs. Lavene Passanha, Bharat Scouts & Guides, District Secretary, Oman Chapter and Mrs. Bharati Banerjee, District Asst. Organising Commissioner - Guides, Bharat Scouts & Guides, both acclaimed educators from Indian School Muscat, led the session. The programme included sessions on Pravesh, Pratham Sopan, Dwitiya Sopan and Tritiya Sopan, with the zealous engagement of participants contributing to the event's considerable success.














The enthusiastic participation of the teachers guided by the Resource Persons further enhanced the event’s prestige. To acknowledge the contributions of the two Resource Persons who took time to prepare, organise and conduct this session for their counterparts across all Indian Schools, the school principal, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, honoured them with mementoes. The event concluded with vote of thanks.
