The YCIS Club of Indian School Muscat organized a commendable Zakat initiative in the Muttrah region on 15th March 2025. The event aimed to provide essential food items to families in need, demonstrating the school’s commitment to community service and social responsibility.
Approximately 58 families in the Muttrah region were beneficiaries of this thoughtful initiative.
The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of ten dedicated students from the Senior Section, accompanied by supportive teachers who actively participated in the distribution process. The initiative focused on providing food items essential for sustenance to underprivileged families.
Each family received a carefully curated package containing staple food items, ensuring their basic nutritional needs were met. The distribution process was conducted with empathy and respect, reflecting the values of compassion and solidarity upheld by the YCIS Club of Indian School Muscat.
The success of this initiative would not have been possible without the unwavering support and guidance of the school’s administration, Principal Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Administration Vice Principal Mr. Saji S Nair, and Vice Principal Senior Section Mr. Joyson Cyril played pivotal roles in providing logistical support and encouragement throughout the planning and execution stages.
In conclusion, the Zakat initiative organized by the YCIS Club of Indian School Muscat stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to serving the community and fostering compassion among its students. Through this initiative, valuable lessons of empathy, generosity, and social responsibility were imparted, leaving a positive impact on both the recipients and participants alike. In response to the ongoing humanitarian needs in the community, the YCIS club also organized a significant initiative on 16th March 2025 to distribute food packets to the Zakat and Charity Committee in the Wilayat of Muttrah. Mr Abdulzahraa Bin Hassan Al Lawati, Head of the Collection department in Muttrah had come to our school to collect the food packets. He was warmly welcomed by the Principal Mr Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice Principal Administration Mr. Saji S Nair, Vice Principal Senior Section Mr. Joyson Cyril and YCIS club members. We could provide food bags that contains rice, flour, cooking oil, tea bags, sugar, powdered milk, pulses and other items to 100 families. The YCIS club members, teachers and housekeeping staffs loaded the food packets from the school premises in his vehicle.
As a part of Zakat, the YCIS Club also organized a benevolent event on 17th March 2025, aimed at supporting the housekeeping staff of our esteemed institution. The event not only showcased the philanthropic spirit of our school community but also exemplified the values of compassion and solidarity. A total of 47 housekeeping staff members were the beneficiaries of this noble initiative. They were presented with collected food items, symbolizing our sincere gratitude and appreciation for their tireless efforts in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our school premises.
The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed members of the school administration and faculty; Principal Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice Principal Administration Mr. Saji S Nair, Vice Principal Senior Section Mr. Joyson Cyril, Assistant Admin Manager Mr. Prakash G, Senior Section Teachers Mr Gangadhar Naik, Ms. Deepa Shiby, Ms. Glincy Antony, Ms Sheena, Mr Joginder, Ms. Smitha K K and Ms Romea Shine.
