The much awaited cultural fiesta of Indian School Muscat, Pre Primary section was held on February 25 and February 26, 2025 in the Jibroo campus. It is an annual event that the entire school looks forward to. All the students of each KG section takes part in the “Cultural Fiesta” thus enhancing the students’ creativity, self-esteem and team spirit.
On the day of the event, the campus adorned a festive mood and there was gaiety and enthusiasm in the air. Students and the near and dear ones of the performing classes thronged the campus to lend support and encouragement to our little ones.
The theme for the first day was “Classroom” and the performing classes depicted the different subjects like Social Science, Value Education and Science that are taught in school. The day commenced with a heartwarming welcome song, United Hearts, performed by the students of KG II A. The melodious rendition highlighted the essence of togetherness, emphasizing that every child is unique yet thrives as part of a team. This was followed by a delightful Welcome Dance by KG I E. The young performers joyfully depicted the nurturing environment of their school, where love, care, and laughter prepare them for the next stage of their journey. Stepping into the realms of time, TIME TREK by KG I G and KG II I transported the audience through history.
Beginning with an engaging classroom session, the students enthusiastically enacted the life of Early Man, then fast-forwarded to the modern era, concluding with an exciting glimpse into a robotic future. Meanwhile, VALUE VIBES by KG I D and KG II C beautifully illustrated the role of kindergarten in shaping children's emotional intelligence. Through engaging enactments, students portrayed the significance of values like sharing, honesty, and gratitude, instilling these life lessons in an engaging manner. Venturing beyond the Earth, SPACE QUEST by KG I B and KG II G embarked on an exhilarating journey through the cosmos. The students showcased the wonders of space, the solar system, and India’s advancements in space technology, including an imaginative rocket launch. The show concluded with a tribute to ISM @ 50 celebrations, leaving the audience in awe. The event reached its conclusion with the students of KG II A once again uniting for the National Anthem, a proud and patriotic moment symbolizing unity and respect for the nation.
The programme’s value was enriched manifold with the gracious presence of the Chief Guest for the day, Mr. Mohammed Rafi A.A, Convener , School Management Committee, Indian School Muscat. Our Principal Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice Principal Administration, Vice Principal Primary section, Assistant Vice Principal Primary Section, also graced the occasion and enhanced the morale of the teachers and students. The Chief Guest, Mr. Mohammed Rafi A.A was amazed at the perfection with which the tiny tots performed and appreciated the clockwork precision and the training by the Pre Primary teachers. The Principal of Indian School Muscat, Mr. Rakesh Joshi ensured that all the programmes were a class apart and raised the benchmark with his able guidance and inputs. The entire event was conceived under the proficient mentoring of Pre Primary Vice Principal Mrs. Prema George.
The day’s events ended with parents and children taking away the best memories of the child’s first mega stage performance in their school life.
The second day of “Cultural Fiesta” was a grand occasion with the graceful presence of the Chief Guest for the day, Mr. Mitul Asher, Chair, Co-Curricular Subcommittee, School Management Committee, Indian School Muscat. Our Principal Mr. Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice Principal Administration, Vice Principal Senior Section, Vice Principal Middle section, Assistant Vice Principal Middle Section, HOD Performing Arts also added value to the show.
The theme for the day was “TV SHOWS” and the performing classes will depict the different TV channel shows like cartoon show, Dance show and a show about different countries around the world. Bringing imagination to life, CARTOON TV by KG I A and KG II E transported the audience into the world of animated adventures. The show revolved around a family flipping through TV channels, landing on a fun cartoon segment where cartoon characters like Dora, Mickey Mouse, and Spiderman embarked on a quest to restore the colors of the world. With energetic dances, a rhythmic song, and a lively fashion show, the performance highlighted the importance of unity in challenging times. The show ended on a humorous note with a creative advertisement renaming Dettol as Pettol. MOVIA TV by KG I C and KG II F continued the entertainment with a dance competition. As a family settled on watching a dance show, students showcased their skills in three exciting rounds featuring different props, retro and modern styles, and a fisherman-and-farmer-themed dance. The judges appreciated their hard work and declared that everyone was a winner, reinforcing the spirit of participation and joy. The show concluded with a unique advertisement, playfully renaming Nirma Washing Powder as Dirma Washing Powder. Taking the audience on a global journey, EXPLORER TV by KG I F and KG II B celebrated cultural diversity. The performance showcased traditional dances, art forms, and martial arts from China, Spain, and Africa, including an engaging display of Kung Fu and bullfighting. The show ended with a tribute to ISM @ 50 celebrations, leaving the audience mesmerized. The event reached its conclusion with the students of KG II D uniting for the National Anthem, a proud and patriotic moment symbolizing unity and respect for the nation.
The maxim of the Pre-Primary section is that every child is unique and every child has talent. Through various roles, each tiny tot was given a chance to come on stage and showcase their talent. Thus, it can be rightly said that this stage of child’s life is truly a learning experience for them.
The Chief Guest for 26th February, Mr. Mitul Asher, Chair, Co-Curricular Subcommittee, School Management Committee, Indian School Muscat was awe stuck with the voluminous parents in the campus. He addressed the audience with great zeal and enthusiasm. Further the Chief Guest appreciated and wished the tiny tots with all success in their future endeavors.
The programs were well appreciated by the audience and they were in astonishment of the children’s talents. They lauded the hard work of the teachers behind the scenes, be it in training, costume procuring or stage decorations.
Under the able guidance and assistance of Pre-Primary Vice Principal Mrs. Prema George, the “Cultural Fiesta” was a phenomenal success. The principal, Mr. Rakesh Joshi, cherished the events and wished everyone a successful year ahead.
