Evaluation is an important component of curriculum for further improvement and effectiveness of teaching learning process.
Middle Section has been following Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE) since its implementation by the CBSE. The Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation covers all aspects of students’ development.
To accomplish this, both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic aspects are evaluated.
Evaluation of Scholastic Areas is done as per the pattern given below
There are two terms.
The First Term is from April –September and the Second Term is from October-March of the subsequent year.
Each term has two Formative assessments and one Summative Assessment.
A total of six assessments are conducted in a year. Four formative assessments and two summative assessments.
Term I : FA1+FA2+SA1
Term II: FA3+FA4+SA2
Formative assessments provide a chance for the students to reflect on the performance and improve upon it.
Formative Assessments are carried through using multiple modes of assessment such as assignments, quizzes, debates, group discussions,projects,lab activity, oral testing, projects,role play,skit,activities, open book tests, presentations, collage work, etc.
Evaluation of Co-Scholastic Areas
Life skills, attitudes, interests,values, co-curricular activities and physical health are evaluated on a five point scale in the Co-scholastic domain once in a term.
